How to Change Gaiters

Changing gaiters can be done with normal household tools.  Below are some hints to make this an easy process for you.  The steps detailed apply for Epic, Epic Grip, Glove boots.  Remember to purchase the correct gaiter for your style boot as the holes for the screws at the side of the boot may differe from style to style.

1)  You will need a medium tip phillips head screwdriver

2)   Take out the front screw and put it in the front hole of the gaiter.  Screw it back into the boot but do not tighten all the way.

3)  Follow step #2 with the other side of the boot.

4)  Find 4 of the medium size screws and 4 of the large T nuts in the packet that comes with the gaiter.  This is all you will need to finish the gaiter install.

5)  Install the brass T nuts into the back strap.  You may need to use a screw and washer to help pull the T nut into the back strap.  Be sure to REMOVE THE SCREW before pulling down the gaiter.

6)  Pull the gaiter down over the back of the boot.  You may have to fold the back of the boot down in order to get it over the back of the boot.  Now line up the holes in the gaiter with the holes in the boot.

7)  Place the washers on your medium screws and screw into the 4 remaining holes and tighten.  Now go back and finish tightening the top 2 screws.

Hint! Remember to check the screws periodically and if you want to be doubly sure you can use a product called "Lock Tight" available from any hardware store but be sure to use only the MEDIUM strength variety or you may not be able to undo your screws if you need to change gaiters again later.
